Description
- A double layer CTP (Computer-to-Plate) plate is a specialized printing plate used in offset printing. It is produced using CTP technology, which enables direct transfer of digital images onto the plate without the need for traditional film-based processes.
- The double layer CTP plate consists of two distinct layers. The first layer is a thin coating of photosensitive photopolymer material that reacts to ultraviolet (UV) light. The second layer is a substrate or base layer that provides stability and support to the plate.
- To create a double layer CTP plate, it is exposed to UV light through a digital imaging system. This exposure selectively hardens the photopolymer material in areas corresponding to the image, while the unexposed regions remain soft and soluble.
- After exposure, the plate undergoes development using a chemical solution that removes the unexposed, soft areas of the photopolymer material, leaving behind only the hardened image areas. The resulting plate is then ready for use in the offset printing process.
